As much as Wayne Gretzky did for promoting hockey, does anyone remember him for his lame goal celebrations where he just skates with his arms and stick straight in the air? Say what you will about Theo Fleury, but there is 2 things everyone remembers him for: Being a disaster off the ice and "The Slide Pump." It is refreshing to see a player show some raw emotion in an era of prepared celebrations such as producing a Sharpie from your sock to sign a ball or taking control of a TV camera.
Fleury's game 6 goal and subsequent celebration have become a unforgettable image in the mind of hockey fans everywhere and a regularly imitated event in local rinks ever since.
