Throughout the past six months, we have heavily documented China's strong will to better their fistpumping etiquette, habits, and form. Whether it was enrolling at Fistpumps.com's Fistpumps Training Academy (in Des Moines, IA) or attending the government's mandatory fistpump drills for both soldiers and civilians, it is clear that China is hoping to become one of the premier fistpumping nations also known as the Axis of Fistpumpers, which currently includes the U.S. (I mean, what list of anything involving the word 'Axis' would be complete without the good ol' US and A), Spain (Nadal - enough said), India (Cricket - obviously), United Kingdom (Home of some of the world's most exquisite fistpumping events such as Wimbledon, the Barclay's EPL, and, of course, abode of Ryan Sidebottom), and Italy (Soccer, CYCLING, and the rare but oft appreciated fistpumping while cooking).
Thanks to China's recent fistpumping surge (Neubret?), I can see them cracking into the Axis and stealing India's spot by the year 2012, and I'm a fistpumping expert so this must be legit. To have an Asian country enter the Axis would be huge for the East which hasn't been recognized for fistpumping prominence since Japan's fall from the Axis in 1994 upon the retirement of Michael Chang (although he was Chinese and born in Hoboken, NJ, which left many to question Japan's inclusion in the first place). Ironically enough, 1994 also saw the descent of Germany from the Axis with the fall of Michael Stich (and I have now met my quota for early 90s tennis references).
I digress. In order for China to move into the Axis by their ETA date of 2012, the Beijing Olympics will play an integral role in catapulting the Chinese onto the vast fistpumping scene, and they are off to a roaring start...Above, China's Dong "The Donger" Fangzhuo debuts a proposing double pump to the delight of a proud nation after scoring, to the dismay of the Flight of the Conchords, against New Zealand yesterday.
